Today I thought I'd share my goals for 2017. In my last post I discussed my 2016 goals and the progress I had made on them - so If you haven't seen that then I'd suggest giving that a read before you continue. Last year I had a lot of smaller goals, where this year I have fewer goals, but they are more significant.

1. Keep up a healthy lifestyle.
Last year I started focusing on living a healthier lifestyle. You know, the cliche eating better, exercising and drinking more water. I'm pretty proud to say that I stuck to it. I'm at a point where I am super happy and confident with my body and I feel really good. However, it's the changes you can't see that I am loving the most. I love the mindset I have now and my body just feels so much better. I mean, I still need to lose some flab and tone - but I am content with where I am at now.
This year I would like t continue that healthy lifestyle and perhaps become a bit stricter in regards to diet and exercise. I have a massive sweet tooth and chocolate is my weakness, and sometimes I just can't resist it.I would love to start practicing daily yoga again. I love yoga and doing it daily was really beneficial for me - I could feel myself getting stronger and more flexible. Plus it's just so calming.

2. Do well In uni This year I go back to uni and I am feeling quite excited about it. If you saw this post, you will remember that I kind of lost my motivation for it. My heart just wasn't in it. I just needed to take a step back from it for awhile. Being pregnant with Lily gave me that chance (Life works in funny ways doesn't it?). I go back in March and I am feeling very excited and positive about it all. I really want to give it my all.

3. Create a good work/family/life balance
As aforementioned, This year I go back to uni, which means I will be spending some time away from Lily. Although I am excited for uni, apart of me is worried about missing Lily and her milestones. Realistically, I'm only at uni 1-2 days a week. But then there's placement and I have to study. It's great that I'm going back as it means I'm doing something for me, but on the other hand I worry about missing all that time with her. Which is why I really need to figure out a great work life balance. If you have any tips for achieving a work life balance, or if you're a parent who has studied and have some advice - please let me know in the comments below!

Those are my goals for the year. Do you have any goals for the year? I'd love to hear them. If you have any tips for mine please let me know below.

Is it too late to wish you all a Happy New Year? Can you believe it's 2017 already? Last year just flew by (gosh, it feels so weird saying that. By the way, am I the only one that still says gosh?). Today I thought I'd talk about my 2016 goals and whether or not I achieved them.

1. Read Books: Every time I think of this I can't help but have a little laugh to myself. This goal was definitely not achieved, I didn't even finish the book that I had been halfway into for 2 years. I guess that's 3 years now. I did read a few chapters, but I think it's safe to say I did not achieve this goal. Which is kind of sad as reading is something I really enjoy. Maybe this year I will actually finish the book.

2. Drink More Water & Eat Healthier: This was something I really wanted to achieve and I'm happy to say that I did really well. The main thing about this goal was that it was a lifestyle change, not a diet. I don't do diets. A healthier lifestyle is much more sustainable than a diet. I generally drink 2 litres of water a day (sometimes I may be a bit under) and I am making much more healthier food choices. I also am exercising regularly which is definitely a good thing. I won't go into a lot of detail as I may be doing a post on this in the future. So let me know If that is something you'd like to see;

3. Take More Photos: I definitely achieved this. If you didn't know, I became a mum in 2016. Which means I did not have any trouble with this goal (I mean she is just way too cute!) - I now have little storage left on my phone. In fact, I really need to get my but into gear and print them off and place them in a photo album.

4. Blog More: I wouldn't say I achieved this, but I am making progress and hope to continue to do so. I'm not too fussed about this as 2016 was a massive year for me. I was adjusting to parenthood and getting to know my little princess. This year I hope to become a bit more consistent with blogging but it will not be the main priority. I am going back to uni so most of my time will be split between Uni related things and spending time with Lily. If I have time to blog, that's great, but making sure I get enough time with Lily is my number one priority. If you have any work-life balance tips, please leave them below. I'd really appreciate it.

5. Spend More Time with Loved Ones: This goal went fairly well, but I could definitely make more progress on this. I'm not saying I don't see anyone, It's more I see a select few people often, and then don't catch up with others for months. I would like to make more of an effort with the people that I see less often as it is so important to spend time with your loved ones.

6. Save Money: This goal needs lots of progress! My partner and I are quite bad at sticking to a budget. If you have any tips please leave them below.

Overall I am quite happy with the progress I made on these goals. Did you make any goals for 2016? If so let me know whether or not you achieved them. My next post will be on my goals for 2017. Follow me on Bloglovin', Twitter & Pinterest so you can keep up to date with the blog.

Can you believe it's almost Christmas? The last couple of weeks have flown by. It all feels like a bit of a blur really. Not long until we'll be stuffing our faces with all the delicious food that comes along with Christmas.

1. The Christmas shopping is almost done! We've just got a few more presents left to buy and then we'll be finished. I'm feeling quite relieved as I have found it to be quite stressful this year. I usually start to get organised in November; but this year it felt like I blinked and it was December. Did you find Christmas shopping stressful this year or were you organised?

2. I bought the cutest baby record book! It was definitely an overdue purchase as Lily is now 8 months old. I just never found one that I really liked and I didn't want to spend heaps on something I wasn't happy with. It's nice to have somewhere to record all of her milestone and something special that I can hold on to.

3. My black Friday Parcel arrived. I got the Zoeva Cocoa Blend Palette and the Antipodes Reincarnation Facial Exfoliator. The antipodes exfoliator is lovely and leaves my skin feeling great. i haven't used the Cocoa Blend Palette yet but I cannot wait to give it a try.

4. This year is Lily's first Christmas so I'm looking forward to Christmas even more. I know she won't remember it, but it's still special for me. Being her first Christmas that meant that we had to do her first Santa photo's. I was a bit apprehensive about it as I wasn't sure if she'd cry - but she was such a little angel and the photo's turned out beautifully.

5. Brad and I have been watching Penn & Teller Fool us. I really love watching the magic tricks but find it so frustrating as I just want to know how they do it!

6. I love the Mac lipstick in Nippon. It's a beautiful pink that is so easy to pull off. I have also been using the Naked Flushed Palette In streak from Urban Decay. I mainly use the bronzer as it is a beautiful colour and works well for my pale skin tone. The Blush is also beautiful, although I am not a fan of the highlighter - I tend to use the hourglass one instead.

I'm not going to lie, I was very underwhelmed by the Gilmore Girls Revival. In fact, I didn't start enjoying it until the scene where Lorelai is telling Emily her favourite memory of Richard. I think it was because I couldn't connect with the characters. It just seemed dull and sad, nothing was gaining my attention and pulling me in. I get that the writers wanted to make it realistic, but I feel that they could have it done this better. It had so much more potential. Obviously there will be spoilers so don't read ahead if you haven't finished it.

Emily
My favourite thing about the Gilmore Girl revival was hands down Emily's story line. Her character development was absolutely amazing. Can we just take a second to remember Emily Gilmore wearing jeans and saying bullshit? Best thing ever. I love that we got to witness her mourning of Richard and watch her go through all the stages of grief. From her being heart broken and lost, to her finding a way to move on. Richards passing helped her realise what was truly important and allowed her to grow as a person. It was truly a life changing situation for her and I think she really became herself. I loved the relationship her and Berta had, It was exactly what she needed. I think the icing on the cake had to be her working in a whaling museum - It was so random but she was totally in her element. I'm going to stop here because I could go on forever - Basically, great story line, amazing character development.

Rory
I didn't like Rory's character at all in the revival. Nor did I like her storyline. I felt like she hadn't matured or grown up at all from when we last saw her in season 7. I just couldn't connect with her. I loved the idea of breaking the 'perfect Rory' facade - but I think they over did it. You'd think the idea of her being lost and not knowing where her life was heading would have been relateable; but for some reason I just couldn't connect with her character. I also hate her story line with Logan. I felt like she should have known better as the same thing happened with Dean when she was younger. The only difference being she was young and in love with Dean. After the Dean cheating situation she felt remorseful and knew what she did was wrong. It seemed like she learnt a lesson. Then more than a decade later, she gets upset because she has to go to a hotel with Logan so they can have an affair? that made me so angry. I was relieved and happy when she ended things with Logan. I mean at least that is some character development for Rory. Another thing that annoyed me was the Paul story line. How do you forget to break up with someone for 2 years? How horrible. On a positive note, I do think it's good she has found something to do, I think writing the book will give her a sense of purpose and help her grow as a person. I don't even know what to say about the ending, I mean she's pregnant? I really did not see that coming. I think next season we will see a lot of character development for Rory. There has to be another season right? they cannot end it like that.

Lorelai
I found Lorelai's story was underwhelming and a bit dull if I'm honest. It could have been done better.
Like I said earlier, I didn't really start to enjoy Gilmore Girls until the phone scene between Lorelai and Emily. I think that was a significant scene for both of them. Looking back though, I do think her story line was realistic. At the end of season 7 Lorelai seemed to be in a great place. The inn was doing well and her and Luke finally realised they were meant to be together. It makes sense that eventually she would fall into a rut and be bit lost. It was nice to see her find herself by the end of it. Lorelai and Luke finally got hitched! The wedding was beautiful. Kirk did a great job! I also wish we had gotten to see more of Lorelai's wittiness.

Other Thoughts:
1. They finally made Michel Gay! This made me so happy.
2. Who were the two kids following Lorelai & Rory around being like servants? Were they trying to get pocket money? It was so weird. This definitely should have been addressed.
3. a part of me is secretly hoping the father of Rory's baby is the wookie she had sex with.
4. Emily in the DAR meeting was hilarious - 'Bullshit!'
5. I loved Jess in this. He went from a troubled teenager to a mature grown man. His character development was awesome. I don't want him to get with Rory though - he deserves better.
6. I'm still wondering about the whole Paul story line. What was the point to it? Was it to contribute to the Rory isn't perfect persona?I mean no one is perfect, but leading a guy on for 2 years and forgetting' to dump him is on a different level.
7. Mr Kim exists? did they just throw a random character in? Was he even mentioned before this? I swear he wasn't even at Lane's wedding.
8. Kirk was hilarious! I love that the town bought a pig for him and Lulu so they wouldn't have a baby.

That's it from me. What did you think of the Gilmore Girls Revival? Who was your favourite character? -xx

Today I'm having a bit of a down day. I'm feeling stressed, tense and tired. It's just been one of those weeks. You know what I mean right? We all have those days or weeks where it just gets a bit too much. You're stressed, you have some stuff going on, you haven't slowed down, or perhaps you're just feeling a bit flat. Don't worry it's perfectly normal.

In light of how I'm feeling, I had a spark of inspiration. Hey that's something right? I'm going to share with you some things to do when you're feeling down. Obviously these won't work for everyone, every person and situation is different.

Yoga
I love yoga. It's my favourite exercise. It leaves me feeling great both physically and mentally. Which is why it's one of the first things I do when I'm feeling down. Yoga allows you to stop and connect with your mind and body. Something that most people need when they are having a bad day.

Exercise
This won't be for everyone. I bet some of you are even rolling your eyes. However so many studies have proven that exercises improves your mood. Now I'm not telling you to do an intense workout (unless that's your thing), even just taking a walk around the block will make you feel better. Plus it gets you out of the house!

Shower
You know when you are feeling sick and you finally have a shower? And you feel so refreshed afterwards. Well when I'm feeling down a shower leaves me feeling a bit more sane and more like myself. If a bath is more your style then go for it (why not light some candles while you're at it). Next time you are feeling down try a shower, you won't regret it.

Get Out
When we aren't feeling the best, we tend to stay in and shut the world out. Which is fine at first. However if you do it for too long it can actually make you feel worse. You end up wallowing and over thinking the situation. So get up and go out, go to the movies, catch up with friends or just go for a walk around the block. As long as it is something that gets you out of the house.

Just Stop
Sometimes we just need to stop and do nothing. If you can just take 5 minutes for yourself and just lay down and do nothing. If you can take longer than definitely do that. It really makes a world of difference.

Breathe
I think we tend to forget the power of a breath. If you're feeling stressed or upset, stop and take 3-5 deep belly breaths. It allows you to stop, relax and de-stress. When I do this I breathe in through my nose for 7 seconds, hold it for 7 and then breathe out through my mouth for 7 seconds. This also helps if you are really angry. If you have more time you could always meditate for a bit.

Relax
When I'm upset I like to relax. This usually means binge watching a tv show on Netflix (anyone else excited for the Gilmore Girls reunion?). Whatever it is you do to relax, just stop and do that for a bit. It will help you feel less stressed. I think this is one that would work for most people.

Eat Properly & Drink Water
This is one for everybody. The reason i wrote "eat properly" is because people react differently to stress. Some people stress eat while others eat very little or not at all. I do a little of both. Today I didn't eat until 4pm in the afternoon (so bad!). As soon as i ate I felt so much better. So If you're feeling down grab something nutritious to eat and drink lots of water. It makes a world of difference. I'm not saying you can't have that magnum, i love a treat when I'm feeling down. Just make sure you are also getting something healthy in your belly.

Write It Down
Sometimes we just need to let out all of our feelings. Writing it down is a great way to do this. It allows you to let out you're feelings, which is therapeutic in itself. It can also help you to make sense of a situation and your feelings. Just give it a try!

Talk To Someone
If you are feeling down than talk to someone. Whether it be your partner, friends, family or even a counsellor. Like writing it down it gives you the chance to get all your feelings out. It also gives you the opportunity for support and perhaps another perspective. Your loved ones want you to be happy! Chances are you will be smiling by the end of the conversation.

Today I decided to do something a bit different from my normal content. I thought I would share my tips on achieving your goals. I have tried to make this as short as possible. However I always tend to make things really lengthy, so we'll see how we go. Please let me know what you think of the post and whether or not you'd like to see more post like this.

1. Be Specific
When making a goal it is best to make it a specific statement. Specific statements are clear and
provide the goal setter with direction. They provide a way for the person to achieve the goal, making it more attainable. A general goal is more vague, it doesn't give the goal setter direction.

An example of a general goal would be to 'get in shape'. While an example of a specific goal is 'To lose 5kg by December. I will do this by going to the gym three times a week'. Which of these do you think is more likely to help you achieve your goal ?

Things to include when setting goals:
- time frame.
- a quantifiable goal.
- how you are going to achieve it.
- why you want to achieve said goal.

2. Write it down.
I know you have all probably heard this a million times. You probably think it's bullshit, I know I did. However, now I think that there may be merit to it.

Think about it, If you just think 'my goal is to get more into shape', that is more than likely to be just a fleeting thought. Don't get me wrong, I think at the time you intended to do just that. It just wasn't set it stone so it didn't happen.
If you instead went home and wrote that specific goal down, it is something you have thought about more and have committed to achieving. It is more concrete than a fleeting thought. Does that make sense?

In addition, make your goal a positive statement as it will motivate you. For example 'Do not eat Junk food' is a negative statement. 'I will eat more healthy and nutritious foods' Is a positive one. Both the same goal, just written differently.

3. Make Short Term Goals
Long term goals can be daunting, they can look unattainable. This can sometimes result in the loss of motivation. Achieving a goal is a journey, it doesn't just happen. When you're working towards that long term goal, you usually achieve small victories along the way. These victories keep us motivated. Creating short term goals is essential in reaching long term goals. They motivate you by giving you small milestones to work towards (more direction). If your long term goal takes a year to achieve, and you don't have any smaller victories along the way; your motivation is likely to deplete.

If your long term goal is to lose 10kgs in 5 months, your short term goal could be to lose 2kgs in a month.

4. Make it measurable
The goal needs to be quantifiable. If it isn't then how are you going to know whether or not you've achieved it? It could be to read 10 books in 3 months or being able to run 6km's by the end of the year. There just needs to be evidence of progress.

5. Realistic
Your goal needs to be realistic. This means that it needs to be something you can achieve in the amount of time you have set. An example of a non realistic goal is to lose 10kgs in a week. The realistic version of that goal would be to lose 10kg's in 5 months.

6. Plan Ahead & Incorporate your goal into your routine.
Planning ahead is the key to achieving your goals. If you don't make time for it then chances are you will just keep putting it off. Remember that time you said you would do it tomorrow? Now remember when tomorrow came and you put it off again? It's okay, we're all guilty of it. To prevent this you need to make time and plan ahead. That means putting that morning run in your planner and getting everything ready the night before. I also try to do one thing towards my goal every day.

7. Don't Give Up.
We all make mistakes, we all lose motivation and fall off track. It's what you do next that counts. You can either start again or you can give up. 'Successful people' make mistakes too, what sets them aside from others is that they get back up and try again.

Do you have any tips? If so please leave them in the comments below. Your tip could help someone reach their goal!

For awhile now I've been looking for the perfect foundation. One with a light coverage that makes my skin glow, yet also last from morning to night. I had my eye on Estee Lauder's Double Wear Light Foundation for a few months, I researched it and read so many reviews. Finally I went into Myers to get it. It's a funny story actually. The makeup artist there applied it to my face; she put such a heavy layer on, that my face felt quite wet from it and the result didn't look too nice. I will never understand why she caked on a light foundation, but each to their own. I did end up purchasing it and I've decided to review it for you all.

Pro's:
The foundation provides a sheer to medium coverage. I prefer a lighter coverage but it is buildable if you prefer a bit more coverage. It leaves my skin looking flawless and glowy. The foundation is so lightweight that it feels like I'm not even wearing anyIt is quite a lightweight foundation. My skin always feels super soft and silky. Which is a bonus in my books.

It blends in like a charm. I generally apply 2 or 3 pumps to my skin and use a brush to buff it into my skin. I haven't tried it, but I imagine it would be easy to work with using your fingers. The longevity is amazing. I can apply it in the morning and it will last through out the day. I don't even need to reapply before a night out. I also love the packaging, it looks and feels luxurious.

Con's:
Unfortunately there isn't a big variety of colours in the range (I think there are 6 or 7 intensity's in the range). I have intensity one which is the lightest of the range. I feel it could be too dark for those who are super fair. After I brought it home, I noticed that it is quite pink toned, and therefore it makes my skin look slightly off (I have yellow undertones). I'm quite disappointed by this as it is such a lovely foundation. Hopefully they expand the range in the future.

Is It Worth it?The reason I didn't buy this foundation immediately is because It is quite expensive for a foundation. After buying it, I would say if you can get the perfect colour for your skin tone, then it is 100% worth it. The quality is amazing and the lasting power is incredible. Unfortunately I won't be repurchasing it as it doesn't suit my skin. If they happen to release a colour in the range that suits me I would definitely repurchase it. I do plan on using the bottle I own up though (I hate being wasteful). I tend to put a yellow toned powder over the top and that seems to make it work.

Have you tried Estee Lauder's Double Wear Light Foundation? What did you think of it? If you have any foundation recommendations please let me know in the comments below. I'm still on the hunt.
I don't know about you, but I love a chatty blog post. I believe an individuals personality comes across and therefore I can relate to them more. It's not just me reading a post that somebody on the Internet wrote, Y'know? So today I thought I'd give it a try. Well actually, I have thought about giving it a try many times. The problem is, whenever I put my fingers on the keyboard, I never know where to begin. Today I am pushing through that, and hoping I will come up with something half interesting for you to read.

My beautiful little girl is now six months old. How crazy is that? I honestly cannot believe she is already six months old. Time has flown. Yet at the same time, it feels like she has been apart of my life forever. The very first appointment with the health nurse; she said to me "By six months you will be a confident mother" and all I could think was, "yeah right. ". Alas, six months is here and I am feeling exactly that. I made it this far. To be fair, Lily is an amazing baby. She is generally a happy baby, plus she eats and sleeps well -touches wood-. What more could I ask for ?. Like any person, she has her bad days of course. She is currently teething and let me tell you, she isn't a fan.

The best thing happened yesterday! You know how you usually cuddle babies and they just accept it? Well Miss Lily initiated her first hug, and I got a cuddle. My heart absolutely melted. She made my day.

For the last month or so I have gotten back into a reasonably healthy lifestyle. I say reasonably as sometimes that chocolate looks too good to pass up. I have been doing daily yoga. I have to say I am really enjoying it. It's amazing how much I can already feel my body changing from it. I am more flexible and I can feel myself getting stronger. It makes me so proud when I can hold a pose longer or finally do a pose I couldn't previously do. Plus, It leaves me all zen like. I love Yoga With Adrienne on YouTube. She has an abundance of video's for all levels. So if you have wanting to try yoga, I'd definitely recommend her video's.

That's it from me today. I'd love to hear about you. so please leave me a comment telling me about your day or week, (or whatever else you want to discuss). Enjoy your day!

On the 20th of April at 4:11am, I gave birth to my beautiful baby girl. It was one of the most amazing and overwhelming days of my life. As Lily is nearly four months old, I thought I would write about my experience of becoming a mum.

Becoming a mum is one of the most amazing, overwhelming and scariest experiences ever. I think if I had to choose only one word, I would choose overwhelming. From the moment they put Lily into my arms I felt so many different emotions; happiness, love, relief that the pain was gone and also fear. This little baby was mine, which meant it was up to me (and of course my partner) to take care of her every need. This little baby was relying on us to care of her, quite a scary and surreal feeling if I'm being honest. What if I stuffed up, what if I couldn't stop her crying, how will I know what she wants? and would I be a good mother?. All these thoughts were going through my head, and I knew they were completely normal thoughts, but it was still scary. All I knew was that I loved this baby, and that I wanted to be the best mum I could possibly be.

Lily is now four months old. Which seems absolutely crazy. Where the time has gone? It feels like I only held her in my arms for the very first time yesterday, but at the same time, it feels like she's been in my life forever. I couldn't possibly imagine my life without her. Watching her grow, learn and explore the world is one of the best experiences. Of course she isn't the only one learning, i am learning every day too. I have learnt so much about Lily and motherhood has taught me so much. Every time she smiles or giggles, my heart just melts. When I think I can't possibly love her anymore, she will look up at me and do something that just completely feels my heart with joy.

Brad is an amazing dad, watching him with Lily just melts my heart. He is completely smitten with her and is absolutely loving the fatherhood thing. Brad is very involved in her life, helping out with everything, even the dirty work. He especially loves playing with her and getting lots of giggles from her. I couldn't ask for anything more and I really appreciate him for everything he does.

Becoming a mother has been an amazing experience and despite the tough times, I wouldn't trade it for the world.

As Valentine's day is approaching, it seemed like the perfect time to share some of my favourite budget date idea's with you. These are activities that not only can you do with your partner/date, but things you can do with your friends too. Who doesn't love spending time with their gal pals? Here are some of my favourite ways to spend time with your partner or friend, that won't hurt your bank account.

Picnic Date
Yes, I know this sound really corny. However, I personally really love picnic dates. I find they are a lovely relaxing way to spend time with someone and just chill out. There are plenty of places you could have a picnic lunch, at the park, in your back yard, at the botanical gardens, the beach, seriously I could go on forever. If the weather isn't the best, you can always have a picnic inside your house. All you really need is a blanket/rug, some delicious food, drinks, utensils (depending on the food) and some great company.

Walk/Hike
So this may not be everyone's cup of tea, especially the hike part, but you can tailor this to suit you and your company. Sometimes it's just nice to find a beautiful place and go exploring. I love walking around, enjoying the scenery and just chatting. In this post, my partner and I went up to Olinda Falls and did just that. It was beautiful and to this day is one of my favourite memories. However, this may be a bit awkward for a first date if you or your date are on the shy side.

Cook With/For Each Other I'm sure we've all seen and swooned over the movie scene where the man cooks this beautiful, candle lit dinner, with the perfectly set up table, for his gorgeous date. At least I have. Well there is no reason you can't have that. Seriously, if you are a male and you are reading this, your girlfriend/date/wife would love this and you would probably earn some major brownie points (trust me, I'm a girl). I love cooking with my partner, it's a lot of fun. So cooking with each other is such a lovely date idea and to be honest, I prefer it to going out to dinner. I feel it's a lot more intimate and fun in my opinion.

Movie Night In Who doesn't love cuddling up on the couch and watching awesome movies. Just grab some blankets, some awesome movies, and of course junk food (pizza and popcorn anyone?). Yes you could always go to the cinemas if you really wanted, but this way you miss the ad's and save some cash. Plus you get an awesome night in, win win, ey? However if you do still want that cinema feeling at a lower cost, I suggest go to the drive in's as it is generally cheaper than the cinemas.

Have you done any of these things on date? If you have any budget date Idea's to add, let me know in the comments below.

This year, I didn't really make any New Years Resolutions. To me it feels like it's more of a cliche. Something that everyone does, but nobody ever sticks to, or maybe that's just me. In saying that, there are a few things I would like to do this year. I wouldn't call them big changes, more just little goals that I would like to achieve.

1. Read Books: I would like to make time to read this year. I use to be such a book worm, but over the past few years, it's turned into something I rarely do, something I only do on the odd occasion. Which is quite sad, seeing as reading is something I enjoy. So this year I want to specifically make time for reading. Even if it is just 10 minutes a day. Who knows, maybe I will get through that half finished Game of Thrones book sitting on dresser.

2. Drink More Water & Eat Healthier: In the last few weeks, my diet has really taken a downfall. I guess that it was bound to happen, being the holiday season. So I really want to focus on making small changes that will really benefit me. I want to reduce the amount of junk food I eat and increase the amount of wholesome foods (think fruit and veg) in my diet. My water intake is actually pretty good, however I don't always get that 2L per day. This year I want to make sure I am at least drinking 2L of water per day. I also would like to be more active.

3. Take More Photo's: I don't really take a lot of photo's, I always mean to, but then I just forget about it or it's too last minute. So this year I want to make sure to take photos so I can capture the memories. I don't think this one will be difficult because I am expecting, so I imagine there will be lots of baby and family photos I take.

4. Blog More: In this post I spoke about how blogging just didn't work out for me last year. I came to the conclusion that I wasn't going to have a set posting schedule for various reaons (if you would like to know why click on the previous link). However I still do want to post at least a few times a month because I enjoy it. Right now, this is going to plan as I already have quite a few post written up. I would like to keep this up.

5. Spend More Time With Loved Ones: Lastly, I want to make a conscious effort to spend more time with loved ones. Of course there are going to be times when life does get in the way. However those times won't matter if I am already making time for my loved ones.

6. Save Money: This year I would like to become more savvy with my money. In particular I would like to save up a decent chunk and would like to decrease the amount of unnecessary product purchases I make.

Those are a few of my goals for this year. I am quite optimistic in achieving them. Did you make any resolutions for 2016 or is there anything you would like to achieve this year? if so let me know in the comments below. If you'd like to keep up to date with my post, the best way to do so is via Bloglovin' or twitter.

I'm not sure how to begin this post, so if this seems a bit un-put together, I apologise.

Sometimes in life, as hard as it is to admit, we need to take a break. We also need to realise that it's okay to need a break. Something that I believe is against human nature. Of course, what we need a break from changes with every person, be it work or study, or something entirely different. What doesn't change, is how important it is to take that break when you need it.

For me it was with my studies. Last year, my heart just wasn't in it. I wasn't motivated and was very slack. In an ideal world, I should have realised this and taken some time off, but I didn't. Instead, I just continued on, and I saw my grades and progress slip. In the end, by not taking a break, I did myself a great disservice, and made the situation more complicated. I'm not sure why I didn't just take a break; maybe a part of me felt that admitting I needed a break was in a way admitting that I was a failure (which is ludicrous), or perhaps I didn't want to disappoint my loved ones. If I'm honest, it was probably a bit of both.

Maybe it's human nature that makes it difficult for us to admit we need some time off. We think this makes us look like failures and that we are admitting defeat, when in fact it doesn't. In the end, by not taking a break, we are doing ourselves more harm than good. Something I wish I had realised earlier on. In truth, having the ability to recognise when you need a break, and to then take that break is a big component of self love.

So please, If you feel like you need some time off, I urge you to look after yourself and take that break. If it were a friend telling you that they needed a break, you wouldn't hesitate to tell them to do just that. So why should it be any different when it's you?

Please feel free to leave your thoughts on this topic in the comments below. I would really love to hear your opinion.

Ps. Things To Do When You're Feeling Down -xxAnonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09584649231233071056noreply@blogger.com30tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3934559993822870669.post-43392667490581103752016-01-02T16:24:00.002+11:002016-11-14T22:15:09.690+11:00Things Didn't Go As Planned. So I started this blog planning to post every Sunday. But as you can see, things did not go as planned. 2015 was a very big year for me. Life just got in the way and it turns out I couldn't commit to that weekly post.
Losing my camera charger also added to me not posting, who wants to put up a post without pictures? (even though I'm doing just that now, as I still have not found the charger!).

As i said, 2015 was a very full on year for me. There were so many ups and of course there were a few downs. But the most amazing part of 2015, was finding out that my partner and I are expecting a baby girl. Which means we already know that 2016 is going to be amazing.

In regards to blogging, I will be continuing to blog. However I am not committing to a set post time for various reasons. Mainly because I don't want the pressure of having a set date, and I don't want to disappoint you guys by being late. When I have something I want to share with you, I will put up a post. I'm not sure what I will be posting content wise. Most likely just lifestyle posts and of course an occasional beauty post. I can definitely say there will probably be some pregnancy/baby post in the future.

Now it's your turn because I would like to hear from you:

1. What was your favourite memory from 2015?
2. What is one thing that 2015 taught you?
3. What are you looking forward to in 2016?
4. Did you make any new years resolutions that you will most likely not stick to?

So that's it for this post. I hope you guys had an amazing year and I wish you the best for 2016.
It's 2015 and I thought I'd hit it up with my first favourite's post. You may recognise a few of these things from this post. Mostly because these are the only make up cosmetics I've had access to over the last month, for reasons I won't be going into. Here are my January favourites.

Clinique intense moisture surge For Christmas I was lucky enough to receive a Clinique gift set that included this little gem. This stuff is so unbelievably hydrating. When you first put it on it absorbs easily into the skin and your skin feels plump and moisturised. The best part? That moisturised feeling lasts all day. It is amazing. Who else loves the way their skin feels after it's been cleansed and moisturised?

Estee Lauder Pure Colour Envy Sculpting Lipstick: I received a mini version of this lipstick in a gift set which I also got for Christmas. Unfortunately the set was limited edition so I cannot link it. The colour is called Dynamic, I would describe this as a muted down pink. This colour is like a pinky nude for me. It applies to smoothly and I love the way it feels and looks on my lips. I feel like it's a lipstick that could complement any make up look. It's lasting power is incredible and I am definitely going to be purchasing the full size of this.

Lorac Pro Palette: This will come as no surprise. I feel like this is going to be a permanent favourite. I won't go on too much about it because I did a full post on it here. This palette is just so versatile and the quality of the shadow's is incredible. Get yours hand on this, you won't regret it.

Mac Harmony Blush: This is the first Mac Product I have ever tried, and let me tell you it was a great first impression. I had heard that this colour was great for contouring, so I knew I had to get my hands on it. It is cool toned meaning that you get those perfectly sculpted cheek bones that don't look muddy. It has everything that is needed in a contour. If you are a pale girl and struggle to find a good contour colour, then try this one. I also use for it's proper purpose as a blush.

Real Techniques Contour brush: This is the brush that I use to apply the above product, and pretty much any contouring product. Let me tell you it does it's job very well. It's the perfect size for getting right into them cheek bones. It's rounded at the end which helps when it comes to blending out the product and getting it into the right place. It comes as a part of the core set.

Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Concealer: There has been a lot of hype around this concealer and in my opinion the hype is worth it. It is light, yet has a great amount of coverage. Great for covering those dark under eyes. The brightening element in it also helps to counteract those pesky dark circles. The sponge applicator may seem a bit unhygienic, but it is the perfect shape for applying it under the eyes. I would not apply it directly to blemishes as you don't want to be transferring bacteria across your face. But it is good for covering blemishes too.

The Body Shop Shea Hand Cream: If there's one thing I cannot stand it is dry hands. If I have dry hands and don't have access to hand cream I just feel so uncomfortable and cannot think about anything else. Recently my hands have been getting drier than usual, The Body Shop's Shea Hand Cream has been helping out with that. There's not much to say really, it smells great, hydrates my hands, makes them soft, you know a good hand cream.

gym leggings - One of my new years resolutions was to focus on a healthier lifestyle. One of the things I have been doing to achieve this is going to gym. Of course when you go to gym, you need cute workout clothes! I have loved wearing these leggings to gym. These leggings provide me with a great amount of support, but at the same time allow me to move properly. They are so cute and comfortable and I love them. Who doesn't want to look hot when they work out, as hot as you can when you're sweating anyway.

Family time: This is probably the most corniest thing, but oh well. Due to circumstances that I won't be going into, I am not living at mum's any more and am now living at my brothers. As I am living at my brothers I have been spending lots of time with my family, and it has been great. It's so amazing being able to watch my gorgeous baby nephew grow up. He has started walking now, I'm so proud! I think as you get older you realise how important family is, and spending time with my family has been a big highlight of this month.

P.S I'm going to be getting my own place soon!!
P.P.S Products Worth The Hype & Things I've Learnt Along The Way
I believe that a huge part of the online community is sharing the success of others. I decided I wanted to do a series that does just that. Today I will be sharing with you a few of my favourite YouTuber's. What do I look for in a YouTuber? I look for someone who is real and makes high quality content. These are the people that I believe fit the bill.

Tanya Burr: No doubt you've heard of her already. Tanya is absolutely gorgeous on the inside and out. I love watching Tanya's channel, she does a variety of beauty video's and vlog's, all of which I enjoy watching. One of my favourite things about Tanya is that her personality shines through in all of her video's. She is just so beautiful and genuine. Tanya is becoming a very successful woman and she truly deserves it.

Jim Chapman: Jim is Tanya's Fiancée. Like Tanya, he is just absolutely lovely. I have been enjoying watching Jim's vlog channel and seeing his daily adventures. I love how Jim makes the video's that he wants to as you can tell he is himself in those video's. Check out his channel!

Sweet K: Klara is a Swedish YouTuber who I have been absolutely loving recently. She makes a variety of video's encompassing beauty and lifestyle. All of which I enjoy watching. She also has a a vlog channel which I enjoy following her on. Her 2014 vlogmas' was one of my favourites. She is genuinely such a kind person and I believe she will be really big one day.

TalkBeckyTalk: I absolutely love Becky's channel. She is such a cheerful and bubbly woman. Becky is a very genuine individual and it really comes across in her video's. She makes a variety of video's which are all amazing. If you are ever feeling down, I guarantee that watching her video's will lift your mood.

Rachael Jade: Rachael is quickly becoming one of my favourite YouTuber's and for good reason. Her video's are amazing and I love watching all of them, whether they be her chatty video's or a tutorial. Rachael is probably one of the realist youtuber's I watch. She is very genuine (Probably the 100th time I've said genuine in this video) and she tells it how it is. Out of all the 2014 vlogmas', Rachael's were my ultimate favourite. If you haven't checked her out, do yourself a favour and go over there now.

When I stay at my boyfriends or a friends house for a few days, I don't like to take a huge selection of products. As much as i love make up, I also like to be able to find things in my bag.
In addition, i don't always necessarily wear make up, so I only take the basics with me. A girl likes to be prepared. These are the products currently in my over night make up bag.

Okay so lets talk about that base. First of all is a sample of Estee Lauders Matte Perfecting Primer. I got this when I purchased one of their products. As it is Summer down here, I like to have a matte primer so that I don't end up looking like a shiny disco ball. This provides me with that perfect matte finish. I also have the Lorac's Behind the scenes Eye primer, because eye primer is important guys.

As aforementioned, it's Summer here. For Summer I prefer a lighter coverage, something that will not be too heavy on the skin. Garnier's BB cream in light is perfect for exactly that. To apply that I use the Nude By Nature Duo Fibre Flat Headed brush. Next I have the Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Concealer in light pale. What a mouthful! I love this for brightening up those dark circles and brightening up the face. To set my make up I use the Rimmel's Stay Matte Powder in translucent with the powder side of the Chi Chi Double Ended Powder and Foundation Brush to set my make up.

For the eyes, I have the Max Factor Colour Perfection eyeliner in Brown 30 to line my top lash line, just to add a bit of definition. Eyeshadow wise, the only item in here is the Covergirl Flamed Out Eyeshadow Pencil in Melted Caramel. These are bloody perfect and you can get away without blending with this shade if you'd like. Mascara wise, I have Covergirl's Lash Blast Length, which I love. If you like long lashes than you should try this.

To give myself some cheek bones, I chose Mac's blush in Harmony, which I use with the Real Techniques Contour Brush. This can also double as a blush if I feel like it. Urban Decays Naked Flushed Palette in Streak is also in my make up bag. Particularly for the highlighter and blush, however if I didn't want to use Harmony to contour than I could use the bronzer from that palette. So I do have a bit of versatility in terms of blush and contour. Last but not least I have Estee Lauder's Rouge Collection lipstick in dynamic. I cannot tell you how much I love this colour. It's like a slightly darker more muted down pink. That may be a horrible description, I suck at describing colours, but it is perfect and I am in love.

So that's what's in my overnight make up bag. Let me know your thoughts on the products mentioned and let me know what is in your overnight make up bag!

Writing this, I cannot believe that 2014 is over, it just flew past so quickly and now it's time to embrace 2015. First of all, I want to wish you all a big Happy New Year. I hope you had an amazing time over the festive season and I hope this year brings you joy. This year I have a few resolutions that I would like to share with you.

Fitness and Health: This is the cliche one, but for good reason. Fitness and health is such an important part of your life and I believe that it is a lifestyle. In 2014, I started to focus on my health and tried to improve aspects of my health that I was slack in. I joined the gym, and although I did stick with it for awhile, I did become a bit slack nearing the end of the year. I also started to focus on what I was putting into my body and put an effort into making more healthier choices. This included things like eating less junk food and upping the intake of healthier foods, drinking more water and incorporating super foods into my diet. In 2015 I would like to further improve my health and fitness and be a bit disciplined in these things, and Of course mental health is a big part of this. I am thinking of doing a post to explain the actions I will be taking to achieve these things and my progress. Let me know your thoughts on that below.

Saving Money: During 2014, I managed to save a bit, but in saying that, I also was spending money on things I didn't need. In 2015, I want to cut down the amount I am spending on unnecessary items. I have a few tips and tricks that will help me along the way and will therefore increase the amount I am saving. Keep an eye out for a post on those.

Connect: Imagine this, you're out shopping and you bump into a friend you haven't seen in ages. You engage in a conversation about how good it is to see each other and that you should catch up next week. You both agree to text each other to confirm details, but alas, it never happens. Sound familiar? I'm sure, like myself, that many of you have been guilty of this. It baffles me as to why this happens, especially when it's a good friend, or even your best friends. You do want to see them, but you never text them back. What is it with us humans?! In 2015, I want to take the time and effort to connect with my loved ones. Because really, life is so short, and instead of sitting around home, you could be out having a blast with your friends.

Read more: For the past few years, I haven't read as much as I use to, or at all really. Which is something that really sucks. Reading is something I really enjoy and I want to make the time to do that this year. So if you have any book recommendations, throw them this way!

Productivity and Time Management: This is an area I have a little trouble with. I am the person that does everything, but the task I need to do. Even when there is nothing else I could possibly have to do, I still look for something else to do. This is something that needs to stop.

What are your New Years Resolutions? Do you have any tips 'n tricks that will help with the above resolutions?

If you're a last minute Christmas shopper, than this is the post for you! I've put together a list of a few of my favourite Christmas deals. These are things that I would love to find under my tree, and luckily a few of them will be. Shall we get started.

The Body Shop always comes out with some great Christmas products. This year they have come out with three new different scents that smell amazing. My favourite pick out of all the available sets is the Festive Body Butter Trio. I think this is a great way to sample all the scents, and The Body Shop do some great body butters. I also think the Glazed Apple Bath Melt would be lovely. Even if you don't plan on buying anything, just go in and take a whiff, you won't regret it!

For Christmas this year, I was given some spending money to pick some presents out. One of the things I chose was the Nude By Nature 12 Piece Brush Set. I thought this was great value for money as you get 12 brushes for $39.95; and Nude do some really great quality brushes. I've also been loving make up brushes lately, so this is a great way for me to build up my collection.

As always, ASOS have some awesome products. I think these shoes are absolutely gorgeous. They are just that beautiful black classic heel. Every girl needs that classic black heel just as much as that little black dress, Since I'm on the subject of ASOS, you can get some really great ASOS deals from CupoNation. CupoNation also offers coupons to a wide range of stores. It's been such a money saver when shopping. Especially when buying make up as make up in Australia is seriously over priced. Also, saving some money around this time of the year is always a bonus.

Clinique have some really amazing deals at the moment. My favourite is the Moisture Favourites, which is actually one of the other things I chose for a present. This is extremely great value for money as it costs $60 and you get the Moisture Surge Intense Skin Fortifying Hydrator (which is the price value of the kit alone) as well as the All About Eyes Serum De-Puffing Eye Massage and the Chubby Stick Lip Balm. All of which comes in a cute pink bag. I also think this set is great.

What do you think of these deals? If you know of any other great deals, let me know in the comments below. Also, keep your eyes out for a cheeky extra post tomorrow!

- Merry Christmas

I bet you haven't seen my name pop up in your feed for a while. If you're wondering why that is, well I can only sum it up by saying life happened. I had my uni exams, my nursing placement, and then there was a spontaneous move which resulted in a lost camera. When I did find it, I just didn't feel like blogging. It wasn't that I was in a rut, or that I was sick of blogging; it was just that I didn't really want to. I just wanted to have a break, and so I did.

But baby, I am back! so I guess it's time for a bit of a catch up?

I'm glad to say that I have finished my first year of uni, and of course the best bit is that I get to have a break from studying. Exam period was crazy, I think the only mode my brain knew was study, the second being procrastination. There were times when I would look for something else to do just so I didn't have to study. But I think that happens to the best of us when our days consist of eating, studying and sleeping. In saying that, I am happy with the results I got for the year.

I recently finished my second nursing placement of the year and I cannot tell you how much I enjoyed it. I feel that each time I am exposed to a nursing environment I become more comfortable and confident within it. Right now, you're probably thinking "Well duh, Sarah", and don't worry, that's exactly what I am thinking too.

Anyway, enough about me, What have you been up to? How's work? How's school/uni? How are you? Let me know in the comments below. As always, if you have any post suggestions leave them in the comments below.

Just a quick side note. Blog post will be continuing as normal; I will be uploading every Sunday/

<span style="color: #444444; font-family: "josefin sans"; font-size: medium;">It's always baffles me how hard it is to think of facts about yourself when you are asked on the spot.
Today's post will be an empties post. For those of you who don't know what an empties post is, it involves discussing product's that I've finished and giving a review of those products. Basically I'm showing you my rubbish and telling you if I like it or not. I know there are mixed opinions on empties posts. I personally like empties posts when there are a reasonable amount of products. Let me know what you think about empties post in the comments below, I would love to hear your opinion.
Wotnot Facial Wipes: I got these with one of my monthly Bellabox's and I don't like them at all really. They are like overly wet, to the point when I have used them that the solution is dripping off of me.For that reason I decided to use them for swatches only, even then it annoyed me. Also, the smell doesn't fly with me It is a natural brand so that could explain the smell, but I can't stand it. When I did use them to take off my makeup, they did an okay job. The packaging says it can take off waterproof mascara, and it did, however it took a lot of work and I prefer not to rub at the eyes. I would not repurchase these.

Dove Original Deodorant: This did the job. It has a fairly neutral smell which I like. It contains one quarter moisturising cream which in itself contains vitamin E & F aiming to improve the look and feel of the underarm skin. I didn't really look to see if it had done this, however the skin of my underarm wasn't dry. It also claims to last for 48 hours, which i doubt it does. However I never tested this so who knows. With a good shake of the can it lasted me all day. This is a good deodorant however I wouldn't repurchase this as I prefer cream deodorant's.

Clarins Daily Energizer Cream: I really enjoyed this moisturiser. It had a think creamy consistency which I found really hydrated my skin and made it feel nice and plump. I liked to use this in the morning to wake my skin up and I found that it did just that. I would definitely repurchase this.

Lacura Fine Balance Cleansing Wipes: Before trying these, I had never tried a face wipes that had taken off my mascara with ease ( to be fair, I have only tried a few brands before hand); but these are amazing. Just One swipe and the bulk of the mascara was off, I couldn't believe it. I found that they didn't make my skin red and angry, which some face wipes tend to do. I use these to take off the bulk of my makeup at times, and then go in with a cleanser. They are only $1.99 which is a bargain! I have already repurchased these.

Head&Shoulders 2 in 1 Dry Scalp Care: I bought this when I noticed that I had some bad dandruff one day. In one wash I noticed a significant decrease in my dandruff and in with another 2 washes, my dandruff had gone. Magic! The scent is almond oil and it smells absolutely amazing. I would repurchase this.

Amor Amor Cacheral: My lovely boyfriend purchased this for me a few months into our relationship and I have been wearing it ever since. It is a lovely floral smell. However it isn't like a sickly floral scent. It's a wearable sophisticated floral scent. I always get so many compliments when I'm wearing it. It has become my signature perfume. I have repurchased it quite a few times and will continue to.

There are times in the blogging world when all the hype is on a certain product. Sometimes these products are worth the hype, and other times maybe not. Here are a few products that I believe are worth the hype. Although these products work for me, they may not necessarily work for everyone, after all this is just my opinion on the products.

Lorac Pro Palette: I am not going to go on about this too much as I have already done a review here . I pretty much have the same opinion and reasons as everyone else who loves this palette. It truly is an amazing palette and you can create so many different looks out of it. You can purchase this palette from here or here

Maybelline Colour Elixirs: Its true, I am definitely a lipstick girl. Lip glosses just never seem to cut it for me. So when I heard all the hype around these lipglosses I was sceptical, but also intrigued. I saw these in store on sale for about $12, so I picked up the shade "nude illusion". I love the formula of these, they feel so nice on the lips. They don't feel sticky and I would say they last 2-3 hours on the lips without eating or drinking. This colour is the perfect nude for me. I will always be a lipstick girl, but this lip gloss makes the cut. Sorry, I've just realised I have forgotten to put this in the picture above. You can purchase the colour elixir's from here.

Rimmel Kate Moss Lipsticks: These have to be one of my favourite lip stick brands ever. The formula is creamy and moisturising and they are long lasting on the lips. I have a ton of these, and they are all perfect - no duds (at least not in any of the shades I have). I would recommend these to everyone as they have a wide range of shades to suit everyone's taste and they are affordable. You can purchase these lipsticks here.

Tangle Teezer: I have wanted this for ages, so when It finally arrived in the mail, I was one very happy women. It's as good as everyone says. I love the design of it, the colours are gorgeous; I chose blueberry in which the teeth of the comb are pink and the back of it is blue. The two different lengths of teeth allow it to comb through my hair with ease, minimising breakage and pulling on the hair. It also feels really nice against the scalp, sort of like a bit of a massage, which benefits the hair, but feels great too. I've just purchased my boyfriend one since he likes it so much. Seriously every girl needs one of these..and possibly their partner. Here is the link if you wish to purchase the tangle teezer.

Real Techniques Makeup Brushes: To be honest, it was only recently that I bought my first set of real techniques makeup brushes. I purchased the core collection brush set which comes with the detailer brush, the pointed foundation brush, the buffing brush and the contour brush. These brushes are seriously soft and they really do make applying makeup so much easier. I don't know why it took me so long to purchase them, but I'm never looking back. I am definitely going to buy the eye set soon. You can purchase the core collection set from here.
