Estee Lauder Double Wear Light Foundation Review.
For awhile now I've been looking for the perfect foundation. One with a light coverage that makes my skin glow, yet also last from morning to night. I had my eye on Estee Lauder's Double Wear Light Foundation for a few months, I researched it and read so many reviews. Finally I went into Myers to get it. It's a funny story actually. The makeup artist there applied it to my face; she put such a heavy layer on, that my face felt quite wet from it and the result didn't look too nice. I will never understand why she caked on a light foundation, but each to their own. I did end up purchasing it and I've decided to review it for you all.
Pro's:
The foundation provides a sheer to medium coverage. I prefer a lighter coverage but it is buildable if you prefer a bit more coverage. It leaves my skin looking flawless and glowy. The foundation is so lightweight that it feels like I'm not even wearing anyIt is quite a lightweight foundation. My skin always feels super soft and silky. Which is a bonus in my books.
It blends in like a charm. I generally apply 2 or 3 pumps to my skin and use a brush to buff it into my skin. I haven't tried it, but I imagine it would be easy to work with using your fingers. The longevity is amazing. I can apply it in the morning and it will last through out the day. I don't even need to reapply before a night out. I also love the packaging, it looks and feels luxurious.
Con's:
Unfortunately there isn't a big variety of colours in the range (I think there are 6 or 7 intensity's in the range). I have intensity one which is the lightest of the range. I feel it could be too dark for those who are super fair. After I brought it home, I noticed that it is quite pink toned, and therefore it makes my skin look slightly off (I have yellow undertones). I'm quite disappointed by this as it is such a lovely foundation. Hopefully they expand the range in the future.
Is It Worth it?The reason I didn't buy this foundation immediately is because It is quite expensive for a foundation. After buying it, I would say if you can get the perfect colour for your skin tone, then it is 100% worth it. The quality is amazing and the lasting power is incredible. Unfortunately I won't be repurchasing it as it doesn't suit my skin. If they happen to release a colour in the range that suits me I would definitely repurchase it. I do plan on using the bottle I own up though (I hate being wasteful). I tend to put a yellow toned powder over the top and that seems to make it work.
Have you tried Estee Lauder's Double Wear Light Foundation? What did you think of it? If you have any foundation recommendations please let me know in the comments below. I'm still on the hunt.
