Budget Date Inspiration

As Valentine's day is approaching, it seemed like the perfect time to share some of my favourite budget date idea's with you. These are activities that not only can you do with your partner/date, but things you can do with your friends too. Who doesn't love spending time with their gal pals? Here are some of my favourite ways to spend time with your partner or friend, that won't hurt your bank account.

Picnic Date
Yes, I know this sound really corny. However, I personally really love picnic dates. I find they are a lovely relaxing way to spend time with someone and just chill out. There are plenty of places you could have a picnic lunch, at the park, in your back yard, at the botanical gardens, the beach, seriously I could go on forever. If the weather isn't the best, you can always have a picnic inside your house. All you really need is a blanket/rug, some delicious food, drinks, utensils (depending on the food) and some great company.

Walk/Hike
So this may not be everyone's cup of tea, especially the hike part, but you can tailor this to suit you and your company. Sometimes it's just nice to find a beautiful place and go exploring. I love walking around, enjoying the scenery and just chatting. In this post, my partner and I went up to Olinda Falls and did just that. It was beautiful and to this day is one of my favourite memories. However, this may be a bit awkward for a first date if you or your date are on the shy side.

Cook With/For Each Other I'm sure we've all seen and swooned over the movie scene where the man cooks this beautiful, candle lit dinner, with the perfectly set up table,  for his gorgeous date. At least I have. Well there is no reason you can't have that. Seriously, if you are a male and you are reading this, your  girlfriend/date/wife would love this and you would probably earn some major brownie points (trust me, I'm a girl). I love cooking with my partner, it's a lot of fun. So cooking with each other is such a lovely date idea and to be honest, I prefer it to going out to dinner. I feel it's a lot more intimate and fun in my opinion.

Movie Night In Who doesn't love cuddling up on the couch and watching  awesome movies. Just grab some blankets, some awesome movies, and of course junk food  (pizza and popcorn anyone?). Yes you could always go to the cinemas if you really wanted, but this way you miss the ad's and save some cash. Plus you get an awesome night in, win win, ey? However if you do still want that cinema feeling at a lower cost, I suggest go to the drive in's as it is generally cheaper than the cinemas.

Have you done any of these things on date? If you have any budget date Idea's to add, let me know in the comments below.

  3. I haven't gone on a date in a while but I still think my favourites have to be the whole hiking or going to a museum, or really just going for breakfast. I think they're all quite in the budget area, and are things that would make me happy. And hopefully make the second party happy too.
